So I was walking into one of my old jobs the other day with my family which I never get to do cause the way my schedule is set up and I got out of the car and as soon as I got out the car I immediately saw 3 of the same co-workers that had been there from 5 years ago in the exact same position they were. At that time I was working two jobs and going to school full time while mentoring under my mentor for multimedia production while trying to start my own multimedia business. Crazy time. Something I would never do again.
Anyway, the crazy thing is that they’re in the same spot, same environment, probably the same amount of money, probably miserable because if you don’t get better life just get harder you get more responsibilities and I ain’t see not one person smiling. And just to demonstrate the standards of the job that’s probably gotten worse there was a manager who was sagging dress pants dress shirts untucked collar open and it’s the first time I really saw that. If the manager doesn’t even care how he appears I’m pretty sure they don’t give a damn about the workers under them. So by that time I’ve got dismissed from school cause I dropped all my classes, tried to do the business full time, and had it fail, went into debt cause financial aid did it cover the classes I dropped, worked at Home Depot overnight paid off the debt then got a state job, then got a higher position job where I work now and I’ll give it up when I quit or move on but I still work there so I won’t say. However, with each new job, the environment, the pay, the quality of people coworkers, the level of stress have all been gradually better and will continue to do so because of gradual growth and persistence.
For those of you who are working on yourself, make sure you take a moment to look back at your track record and see if your life has gotten better and upgraded either health-wise career wise personal achievements etc. a lot of people tend to give up and think that changing themselves is not worth it or they get depressed thinking nothing’s changing but they’re not holding their past situation in juxtaposition.
